A woman has been charged in re­la­tion to an al­leged at­tempted mur­der at Mt Druitt ear­lier this year. About 10.45pm on Tues­day, March 17, a 26-yearold man was shot in the neck at Mt Druitt. He was taken to hos­pi­tal and un­der­went im­me­di­ate surgery to his in­jured spine, lung and spleen. De­tec­tives formed Strike Force Brice to in­ves­ti­gate the in­ci­dent. On Fri­day, April 24, a 29-year-old man was ar­rested in Queens­land and is cur­rently be­fore the courts charged with shoot with in­tent to mur­der and shoot with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­ily harm. As part of on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions, de­tec­tives ar­rested a 27-yearold woman at a home in Coly­ton on Satur­day. She was taken to Mt Druitt Po­lice sta­tion and charged with con­ceal se­ri­ous in­dictable of­fence and goods in cus­tody. She has been granted strict con­di­tional bail and is due to ap­pear at Mt Druitt Court on Thurs­day, July 2. Po­lice urge any­one with in­for­ma­tion to call Crime Stop­pers.


WHA­LAN Mt Druitt po­lice have ar­rested a man on an ex­tra­di­tion war­rant from Queens­land. At about 6.30pm last Wed­nes­day, the Mt Druitt Pro-Ac­tive Crime Team re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that a 41year-old Queens­land man was stay­ing at an ad­dress in Wha­lan. He was wanted on a num­ber of sex of­fences at Lo­gan in Queens­land. Po­lice at­tended the Waikanda Cres­cent ad­dress and saw the man in­side. Po­lice al­leged the man tried to hide up­stairs but was caught and taken back to the sta­tion to await ex­tra­di­tion.


EASTERN CREEK Traf­fic was de­layed north­bound on the M7 at Eastern Creek on Mon­day morn­ing due to a truck col­li­sion and fire. Shortly af­ter 1am, po­lice and emer­gency ser­vices were called to the M7, about 200m north of the Wal­grove Rd off- ramp, for a col­li­sion be­tween two north­bound trucks. A fire broke out in one of the trucks and one driver was taken to hos­pi­tal with non-life threat­en­ing in­juries. Fire and Res­cue NSW worked at the scene to ex­tin­guish the fire and clear de­bris.


BLACK­ETT Mt Druitt po­lice would like to re­mind res­i­dents to be mind­ful of po­ten­tial fire haz­ards when cook­ing and pre­par­ing meals. On Sun­day, a 34-year-old Black­ett woman was cook­ing at her Bol­drewood Rd home be­fore leav­ing the kitchen and for­get­ting about food left on the stove. As a re­sult, a large fire started. A neigh­bour, hear­ing calls for help, put the fire out with the use of a gar­den hose just prior to Fire and Res­cue NSW ar­riv­ing. The woman, 34, was con­veyed to Mt Druitt Hos­pi­tal suf­fer­ing from smoke in­hala­tion. There was sig­nif­i­cant dam­age caused to the kitchen.


ERSK­INE PARK Po­lice have re­leased CCTV im­ages in the hope of iden­ti­fy­ing a man in re­la­tion to a home in­va­sion and armed rob­bery at Ersk­ine Park last year. Emer­gency ser­vices were called to a home on Fan­tail Cres­cent in Erk­sine Park about 1.45am on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 25, af­ter three men forced en­try to prop­erty.
