A woman has been charged in relation to an alleged attempted murder at Mt Druitt earlier this year. About 10.45pm on Tuesday, March 17, a 26-yearold man was shot in the neck at Mt Druitt. He was taken to hospital and underwent immediate surgery to his injured spine, lung and spleen. Detectives formed Strike Force Brice to investigate the incident. On Friday, April 24, a 29-year-old man was arrested in Queensland and is currently before the courts charged with shoot with intent to murder and shoot with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. As part of ongoing investigations, detectives arrested a 27-yearold woman at a home in Colyton on Saturday. She was taken to Mt Druitt Police station and charged with conceal serious indictable offence and goods in custody. She has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Mt Druitt Court on Thursday, July 2. Police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
WHALAN Mt Druitt police have arrested a man on an extradition warrant from Queensland. At about 6.30pm last Wednesday, the Mt Druitt Pro-Active Crime Team received information that a 41year-old Queensland man was staying at an address in Whalan. He was wanted on a number of sex offences at Logan in Queensland. Police attended the Waikanda Crescent address and saw the man inside. Police alleged the man tried to hide upstairs but was caught and taken back to the station to await extradition.
EASTERN CREEK Traffic was delayed northbound on the M7 at Eastern Creek on Monday morning due to a truck collision and fire. Shortly after 1am, police and emergency services were called to the M7, about 200m north of the Walgrove Rd off- ramp, for a collision between two northbound trucks. A fire broke out in one of the trucks and one driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fire and Rescue NSW worked at the scene to extinguish the fire and clear debris.
BLACKETT Mt Druitt police would like to remind residents to be mindful of potential fire hazards when cooking and preparing meals. On Sunday, a 34-year-old Blackett woman was cooking at her Boldrewood Rd home before leaving the kitchen and forgetting about food left on the stove. As a result, a large fire started. A neighbour, hearing calls for help, put the fire out with the use of a garden hose just prior to Fire and Rescue NSW arriving. The woman, 34, was conveyed to Mt Druitt Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. There was significant damage caused to the kitchen.
