Pinup’s win for confidence

WENDY Crosland, also know as Miss Wurple, is a mother of two by day and a pillar of pinup by night.

Miss Crosland said she had always struggled with her self image but since signing up for the Miss Pinup Australia pageant two years ago, she’s had a new lease of life.

The Shalvey resident made the State Finals this year, but insists the pageant is a journey not a competition.

“The main aspect is that it is a self discovery,” Miss Crosland said. “I believe that through my new-found confidence ... I’m winning because I’m a new person. I feel better about myself.”

Miss Crosland, who wears dresses made by Peachy Keen Collections, said the pageant had given her the confidence she needed to put more effort into her personal presentation, and her motivation then inspired her children to take pride in their appearance.

The state finals will be held at Paddington RSL on Saturday at 7pm. For details see facespinupaustralia.
