man has been charged with at­tempted mur­der af­ter a 50year-old was stabbed while sit­ting in his car in an in­dus­trial area at Mt Druitt on Fri­day night. The man, 50, was parked in Coven­try Place about 9.20pm when a sec­ond man got into the car. It is al­leged the man then stabbed the 50year-old mul­ti­ple times in the face and chest. The in­jured man went to a nearby car­a­van for help and was taken to West­mead Hos­pi­tal in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion. Po­lice ar­rested a 37year-old man at a prop­erty in Ersk­ine Park on Satur­day evening. He was charged with caus­ing wound­ing to per­son with in­tent to mur­der and re­manded in cus­tody un­til July 10.

CREEK An over-size B-dou­ble primem­o­ver tow­ing a trailer hit a rail­ing and be­came wedged be­tween bar­ri­ers at an off ramp of the M7 in the early hours of last Wed­nes­day. The truck was trav­el­ling south on the M7 when it en­tered a work zone near the Light Horse in­ter­change. It then at­tempted to leave the mo­tor­way via the Wall­grove Rd off ramp, but struck 60m of rail­ing be­fore be­com­ing wedged be­tween the rail­ing and con­crete bar­rier, block­ing traf­fic for hours. The driver, a 61-yearold Vic­to­rian man, was is­sued with a ma­jor de­fect no­tice for the dam­age.

MARYS A 17-year-old learner driver, pulled over by St Marys po­lice in the early hours of Satur­day morn­ing on the Great Western Hwy, al­legedly re­turned a pos­i­tive al­co­hol breath test of 0.03. The teenager, from Doon­side, will ap­pear at the Pen­rith Court at a date to be set, on charges of spe­cial-range drink-driv­ing and driv­ing un­ac­com­pa­nied.

MARYS Po­lice have ar­rested and charged a man with drug of­fences. While pa­trolling Gi­d­ley St in St Marys on Fri­day about 9.30am, po­lice saw a man al­legedly act­ing sus­pi­ciously. Af­ter speak­ing to the 41-year-old from Emu Plains, they searched him and found a num­ber of tablets, for which he al­legedly had no pre­scrip­tion. He has been charged with pos­sess­ing pre­scribed drugs and bailed to ap­pear at Pen­rith Court on July 9.

5EMERTON

A losspre­ven­tion of­fi­cer has been punched in the face by some­one try­ing to steal items from a gro­cery store. The man was seen re­mov­ing a num­ber of items from a store in Emer­ton and putting them in his jacket about 4.30pm on Satur­day. The man, in his late 40s with light-coloured hair, was stopped, but punched the of­fi­cer in the face be­fore run­ning off. Any­one who can help should ring Mt Druitt po­lice on 9675 0699.

DRUITT A 19year-old man will face court af­ter he was stopped while rid­ing a trail bike in Mt Druitt. Po­lice were pa­trolling Bel­more Ave about 6.20pm on Sun­day when they spot­ted the rider. Po­lice will al­lege he was not wear­ing a hel­met, and the trail bike was un­reg­is­tered. The 19-year-old was is­sued a Field Court At­ten­dance No­tice and is due to ap­pear in Mt Druitt Court on Au­gust 13.

7LETHRIDGE

PARK A po­lice search of a Lethridge Park home in the early hours of Mon­day morn­ing has al­legedly un­cov­ered a home­made shot­gun with work­ing bolt-ac­tion, am­mu­ni­tion, a com­bat knife, stolen mail and sev­eral pairs of black gloves. It fol­lowed the ar­rest of a 33-year-old Cabra­matta man, who was charged with break-and-en­ter and driv­ing while dis­qual­i­fied. The man was ar­rested af­ter al­legedly run­ning from po­lice Sun­day at Green Val­ley af­ter he was pulled over.
