BEING CREATIVELY CRAFTY STOCK UP ON SUPPLIES AND IDEAS AT NEW ONLINE SHOP
TO bring out creativity in children, Ainslie Turner came up with CleverPatch, an online craft store.
It’s all about a place where ideas grow, Turner says.
Her two craft-loving children, Amelia Daisy and Fergus, were the inspiration behind the brand.
“CleverPatch is all about the doing. We care about the experience being great,’’ Turner says. “Our craft products are designed to be enjoyed ... it’s not about pipe cleaners and beads but about growth that comes from exploration and freedom of creative expression.’’
Turner says craft is a brilliant way to take children away from computers and televisions.
“Children love craft but the best part is they want their parents, friends and siblings to sit with them when they are crafting,” she says. “Above all, unlike screens or devices, there is no right or wrong way with craft and creativity.’’
CleverPatch has about 4000 products and almost 1,200 free ideas online. Children can make anything from papier mache bags to 3D wooden rockets and decorations.
Seasonal kits are also available, such as the Frozen Ice Castle and Snow Wonderland. The CleverPatch kits start from $4.95. Each kit includes instructions and everything needed for a masterpiece.
“Our large craft kits, which we call activity packs, are the perfect solution for group craft sessions like birthday parties, craft afternoons or holiday crafting,” Turner says.
CleverPatch is all about doing, says creator Ainslie Turner, pictured with her children Amelia Daisy and Fergus. Winter projects include the Snow Wonderland pack, which includes everything to make 20 snow globes, and Papier Mache Craft House.
