Gym­nast is on a roll

YOUNG Ko­ralee Catlett is not afraid to aim high de­spite her youth.

The 10-year-old gym­nast is the Aus­tralian na­tional cham­pion in the tum­ble dis­ci­pline and al­ready has her sights set on next year’s na­tion­als to de­fend her ti­tle.

The Ju­nior Sports Star nom­i­nee also placed sec­ond in the dou­ble mini trampoline and took home a bronze medal in trampoline at the na­tional com­pe­ti­tion in May.

While next year she will jump into a new age bracket, the gym­nast from Rooty Hill said she was keen for the chal­lenge.

“I like the trampoline and tum­ble be­cause we get to learn lots of new tricks and we make lots of new friends,” Ko­ralee said.

With Sam Palmer as her in­spi­ra­tion, Ko­ralee said she wanted to em­u­late the world cham­pion tum­bler’s work ethic.

“She (Palmer) inspires me with her hard work that she puts in and her ded­i­ca­tion,” she said.
