TO ensure job seekers, on Work for the Dole, get the most out of their experience the largest Australian owned employment provider, Sarina Russo Job Access has partnered with Fusion in Western Sydney,.

The aim is to make the program enjoyable and useful, so that participants genuinely experience change.

Danielle Candrick, Sarina Russo’s Work for the Dole Manager says the projects range from horticulture, retail, administration and hospitality.

“Work for the Dole is a tool to assist job seekers gain practical skills and keep them motivated in the workplace. Our ultimate goal is to return them to full time sustainable employment.”

Ms Candrick says she’s excited about partnering with Fusion, a community organisation that has over 50 years’ experience helping people build the necessary skills required to fnd work.

“The people who attend theWork for the Dole program with Fusion are not treated as a number. They’re treated as a part of the Fusion family,” she says. “A lot of people that enter the program end up donating their time to be there because it’s such a great environment.”

Sarina Russo Job Access will be joining Fusion at its community hub in the Western Sydney suburb of St Marys, where Work for the Dole participants will be able to access job services and Work for the Dole programs.

“We hope this will become a bit of a supermodel in its delivery,” he says.

“We are here to help people grow and to build people up, because people matter,” he says.

It also provides participants with more confdence.

“It’s all about patting them on the back when it’s appropriate. It’s about having the right supervisors that care and want to make a go of it for these people.”

With this sort of encouragement, Ron says, people develop not only the skills but also make their way back into sustainable, full-time work.

“It really works. It’s about changing people’s lives to help them get the job,” Mr Rademaker said.
