Fines for smoking
Fines of up to $300 for individuals and $5500 for business will now be handed out to people smoking within four metres of pedestrian access to cafes, licensed premises and restaurants under new amendments to the Smokefree Environment Act 2000. NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner said the government was committed to protecting the community from secondhand smoke.
