Crews from Dun­heved Fire Sta­tion were called to a crash in Mt Druitt at 1.48am on Sun­day. The driver was pulled from the car through the pas­sen­ger door af­ter the car hit a large bol­lard in the drive­way of a fac­tory com­plex on Kur­ra­jong Av­enue. The driver was taken to hos­pi­tal via am­bu­lance.


TREGEAR A Mt Druitt man, 36, has been charged with mid-range drinkdriv­ing. Po­lice said about 7am on June 29, the man was seen al­legedly speed­ing along Lux­ford Rd at Tregear. Po­lice stopped the car and breath tested the driver, al­legedly record­ing a pos­i­tive re­sult. The man’s li­cence was sus­pended and he is due to face Mt Druitt Court at a later date.


ST MARYS Res­i­dents are re­minded to close all win­dows, lock all doors and take the keys from the ig­ni­tion when leav­ing ve­hi­cles unat­tended. A St Marys po­lice spokesman said it was an of­fence to leave cars un­locked. As a fur­ther pre­cau­tion, en­sure all prop­erty is re­moved from view, es­pe­cially mo­bile tele­phones, cloth­ing, bags and money. These items should be taken out or locked in the boot. Park­ing in busy and well-lit ar­eas will also help pre­vent cars from be tar­get­ted.
