Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

No, not really. I have done in the past but not normally. I’ve never felt harassed here but I don’t hang around much. The other week there was a group of about 10 people at the far end of the mall being very loud and it seemed as though they had been drinking but they didn’t come near me. GEORGE JENNINGS, QUAKERS HILL No, I don’t feel unsafe here but you do still see trouble from time to time. The different community and religious groups that come here on Thursday night would be having an impact on that for sure. I haven’t seen many cops in the area or security guards. CHLOE INGRAM, GREYSTANES It’s the first time I’ve been here and, to be honest, I feel a bit wary. This area has a reputation for being a bit wild, I guess, and I just started a new job here. I haven’t seen any problems at all though, which is good. MELISSA BIRD, ROOTY HILL I’d say it is safer now than it used to be, but that’s probably because I’m older. I think it’s good to have security in the mall and police walking through, but that doesn’t necessarily make me feel safer. I certainly wouldn’t sit with my handbag on the seat beside me.
