A teenage mo­tor­cy­clist was in­jured when he col­lided with a car in Has­sall Grove last Tues­day. About 2.45pm, a 15year-old was trav­el­ling along Buck­well Drive when he lost con­trol and col­lided with the rear driver’s side of a Subaru sedan. The rider was thrown from the mo­tor­cy­cle on to the road and suf­fered a num­ber of in­juries to his right arm, shoul­der and wrist. Po­lice were con­tacted and at­tended the scene, and the rider was later taken by am­bu­lance to Ne­pean Hos­pi­tal. Po­lice spoke with the rider in re­gards to the mo­tor­cy­cle be­ing un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured.


WHA­LAN A man was caught driv­ing dis­qual­i­fied at Wha­lan on Sun­day. About 8.50pm on July 19, po­lice were pa­trolling along Lux­ford Rd when they saw a Mit­subishi Magna trav­el­ling along­side the po­lice ve­hi­cle with­out its head­lights on. Po­lice stopped the ve­hi­cle and spoke to 23-year-old Leth­bridge Park man. They con­ducted a road­side breath test, which came back neg­a­tive. The man stated that he had for­got­ten to put his head­lights on. Af­ter fur­ther in­quiries, po­lice dis­cov­ered his li­cence was dis­qual­i­fied, and is­sued the man a court at­ten­dance no­tice in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent.


ROPES CROSS­ING Druitt po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a ve­hi­cle fire at

MRopes Cross­ing on Tues­day. About 2.23am on July 21, po­lice were called to Mackay Cir­cuit in re­gards to a ve­hi­cle on fire. They used gar­den hoses to at­tempt to re­duce the dam­age to the car un­til the fire brigade ar­rived about 10 min­utes later and the fire was ex­tin­guished. The ve­hi­cle was com­pletely de­stroyed as a re­sult of the fire, and a nearby ve­hi­cle was also dam­aged. In­quiries are con­tin­u­ing and any­one with in­for­ma­tion in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent is urged to con­tact Mt Druitt po­lice.


EMER­TON M Druitt po­lice ar­rested a Leth­bridge Park man for lowrange drink-driv­ing on Mon­day. About 8.50pm, a man was seen by po­lice driv­ing his a sil­ver Holden Com­modore along Copeland Rd in Emer­ton and tail­gat­ing another ve­hi­cle and swerv­ing on to the wrong side of the road. Po­lice stopped the ve­hi­cle and when speak­ing with the man no­ticed the smell of al­co­hol on his breath. The man was sub­jected to a road­side breath test, which re­turned a pos­i­tive re­sult. The the driver was ar­rested and taken to Mt Druitt po­lice sta­tion where he was sub­jected to a breath anal­y­sis, which re­turned a lowrange read­ing. The man was is­sued a court at­ten­dance no­tice to ap­pear be­fore the Mt­Druitt Lo­cal Court in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent.


ROOTY HILL A Doon­side man was charged on July 15 af­ter a woman was sex­u­ally as­saulted in Rooty Hill. Po­lice al­lege the 23-yearold man sex­u­ally as­saulted and robbed the 46-year-old woman on the North Pde over­pass on July 9. He was charged with three counts of ag­gra­vated sex­ual as­sault and ag­gra­vated rob­bery. He was re­fused bail and ap­peared be­fore Mt Druitt Court on July 15.


MT DRUITT Women in the NSW Po­lice Force are mark­ing 100 years of ser­vice this year, with cel­e­bra­tions for the mile­stone hap­pen­ing in Mt Druitt and St Marys this month. The ba­ton will ar­rive at Mt Druitt po­lice sta­tion on July 29 and mem­bers of the lo­cal po­lice and the com­mu­nity will run a 5km re­lay to Wha­lan Re­serve. Mem­bers of the com­mu­nity are in­vited to the re­serve where there will be ac­tiv­i­ties and en­ter­tain­ment from around 10.40am. The ba­ton will then go to St Marys on July 31, where po­lice of­fi­cers and com­mu­nity rep­re­sen­ta­tives will par­tic­i­pate in a march down Queen St. The ba­ton is part of a six-month jour­ney around the state, and will even­tu­ally make its way to the Syd­ney Opera House for a “wel­com­ing home” event in Septem­ber.
