Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

THE Opal card system is proving more expensive for commuters, Labor says.

Analysis by the Labor State Opposition shows people travelling from Penrith to Central (35-65km trip) were paying at least $430 more than if they bought a monthly paper ticket in 2011.

However, a spokesman for Transport Minister Andrew Constance said 90 per cent of transport users were better off, with annual paper train tickets making up less than one per cent of sales.
