A PROPOSED state-ofthe-art animal holding facility to be housed in Glendenning would be a great asset for the community. As more and more light is shed on the plight of animals held in crowded concrete cells as they wait for their imminent death, this palace for pets could well be just what the vet ordered. It would also boost the already growing trend of people rescuing animals from the pound rather the going to pet stores or puppy farms. If it goes ahead, the facility will ensure abandoned pets are properly cared for while they wait to be rehomed. It will no doubt teach future generations to treat animals with care. I for one hope the council gives it the go-ahead.
