BLACKETT Mt Druitt police are investigating after a bottle was thrown through the window of a house in Blackett. At about 12.30am on Monday morning a 39-year-old Blackett man was at home when an unknown person threw a bottle through the front window of his Keesing Cres home. As a result of the incident the glass window of the residence was broken. Police were called and conducted a patrol of the area but the assailant was not found. If anyone has any information in relation to this incident they should call Mt Druitt police on 96750699.
BIDWILL A 16-year-old was arrested for possession of a knife at a house party in Bidwill on Saturday night. At about 10.30pm police were called to a Capparis Circuit address in response to a house party that had to be closed down due to a number of incidents. Police had cause to speak and search the young man, and located a knife in his possession. Police seized the knife and will issue a court attendance notice.
LETHBRIDGE PARK A Lethbridge Park man was charged after allegedly being found in possession of a homemade firearm on Monday morning. At about 1.40am police stopped a Holden Barina on Lucena Cres and spoke with the male driver. Officers searched the 36-year-old man and allegedly found ammunition and cannabis. During a subsequent search of the Barina, police allegedly found a homemade pistol capable of firing .22 calibre bullets. The man was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt police station. At about 9.15am, police executed a search warrant at a home on Lucena Cres, where they found and seized more ammunition. The man was charged with possessing ammunition without holding a licence, a prohibited drug, unregistered/ prohibited firearm and not keep firearm safely.
ST MARYS A man was arrested in St Marys after police allegedly found a number of firearms in his possession last Thursday afternoon. At about 3.35pm police attended an address in Brisbane St, St Marys, and during a subsequent search of the premises allegedly located a number of firearms, a prohibited weapon and an amount of prohibited drugs. A 45-year-old male was arrested at the scene and returned to Penrith police station where he was later issued with court attendance notices for the offences of possessing a prohibited drug, unregistered firearm and possession or use a prohibited weapon without a permit.
MT DRUITT A 23-yearold Mt Druitt man was arrested by security at Westfield Mt Druitt on Sunday. At about 7pm the man was detained after he walked into a bottle shop and removed a bottle of alcohol from a display stand before leaving the store without paying. Security detained the man before police arrived a short time later. He was arrested and issued with a court attendance notice.
