Musicians and filmmakers showcase their talents
MORE than 200 people crowded into Dawson Mall in Mt Druitt for the finale of the Heat from the Street music video project on Thursday.
The event doubled as a party that featured a free barbecue, dance performan- ces, an open mike session and a Soul Benefits performance.
Heat from the Street was a project that aimed to provide young musicians and filmmakers from Mt Druitt with the chance to produce professional music videos.
The last of eight videos, which tell the stories of Mt Druitt through the eyes of the young people who live in the suburb, will be launched at Kings Cross later this year.
“We have definitely had the opportunity to tell some stories and present some artists with their first ever film clips or to have a more professional video done,” as- sistant producer Glazer said.
“We would love to continue making more videos but right now the grant is finished.”
