No point complaining

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

RE: “Cost of living to hit home,” ( Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard, August 5).

I pay $570 per week (to rent) in Old Mt Druitt and both my wife and I work fulltime.

I also have a Friday/Saturday night job and we are saving for a house deposit.

We also have $180 per week going on before-and-after-school care, plus $1400 a month on car loans.

If I can do it, there is no reason that no one else can’t.

Stop playing the ‘I’m from Mt Druitt fiddle’ and play the ‘I go to work or study to give myself a better future fiddle’.

I’m not saying that every one in the community is a sponge but there are a lot that are sponges on society.

Maybe (this is a general point of view) give up the cigarettes, boozy nights out at pub/club and getting tatts, and work more than 38 hours per week. TODD BLACKLAWS,
