A new study, The NSW Study of Drowning and Near Drowning in Children (016), has found impressive rates of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, with 90 per cent of children who needed CPR receiving it after a near drowning. Trauma Surgeon at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Professor Danny Cass said “early CPR has been shown to contribute to greater survival”.
