Sydney Water apologises for dodgy tradies

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS -

SYDNEY Water has hand delivered a written apology to Ropes Crossing resident Krystyna Rooney and her family after The Standard released footage of contractors it hired misbehaving at her home.

Home security cameras captured the more than two hours of time spent by the tradies, in which they could be seen urinating on the house, looking in the letterbox and practising golf swings as they worked on a leaking pipe.

A spokesman for Sydney Water said the Rooneys’ entire water bill for next quarter would also be waived.

Mrs Rooney said she was happy to put the matter behind her and hoped it served as a lesson, not only to the contractors for their unprofessional behaviour, but to Sydney Water for the way it handled customer complaints in the future.

“I do appreciate that they’ve acknowledged what they did was wrong, it’s just unfortunate it took the media getting involved for them to listen,” Mrs Rooney said. “I just wanted them to take my complaint seriously.”
