Wrestlers of all shapes and sizes to tangle
MORE than 30 pro-wrestlers will take over Evan Theatre at Panthers on Saturday night for their TV taping of Rock and Roll Wrestling.
The pro-wrestling show will include a championship match, a 15man rumble and a women’s tag team match. The last man standing in the rumble will be crowned winner of the first annual Panthers Battle Royal – one Mt Druitt wrestler James Matthews, aka Two-Faced Alcover Vyse, is chomping at the bit to start.
“You can see small guys taking on giants — you don’t normally see that in other forms of wrestling,” he said.
Despite his concern about sharing the ring with popular giant Drew Fulton, Matthews said he’s got a shot at winning the rumble.
The TV taping will be for a pilot of a proposed pro-wrestling show in the style of the American WWE but with an Australian twist.
Doors will open at 7.30pm for 8pm start. All are welcome, but under-18 members will need to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children. Details: visit penrith.panthers.com.au.
