Mt Druitt Police are investigating a theft at Bunnings Warehouse in Minchinbury. At about 1.30am on Monday, thieves forced entry into the store and removed a large number of power tools. A Willmot man, 20, will face Mt Druitt Court charged with possession of a prohibited drug and custody of a knife. At about 4.10pm on August 10, police were conducting patrols of the Willmot area when they saw the man on Captain Cook Drive. Police searched the man and allegedly found a knife and a substance believed to be methamphetamine. The man will appear in court at a later date.
A man, 42, has been charged with lowrange drink-driving. At about 1.20am on Friday, St Marys police were travelling along Parkes Ave at Werrington when they stopped a red Holden sedan. The driver, a man, 42, was subjected to a breath test, which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.071. The driver is expected to face Penrith Court on September 14.
ST MARYS An inquiry will continue into a break and enter at St Marys on Sunday. Shortly after 3.30pm, police were called to a property in Glossop St after reports of a man trying to steal property from a garage and assaulting a resident. Police arrived and arrested a man, 32, who was questioned. He was later released pending further inquiries.
MARYS A man, 22, will face court next week charged with resisting police. At about 1.15am on Friday, it is alleged the man went to St Marys police station in a taxi before becoming involved in a dispute and threatening the driver. Police spoke with the man as the taxi left and issued a direction for him to leave the area, but the man allegedly refused. He remained in the area for a short time before he is alleged to have attempted to damage a nearby parked vehicle by punching the windows. He was restrained and, after a short struggle, was placed under arrest. The man was later issued with court attendance notices for the offences of refusing/failing to comply with direction and resisting an officer in execution of duty. He is expected to appear at Penrith Court next Friday.
Mt Druitt police are investigating a crash between a car and a cyclist in Shalvey. At about 7.40am on August 10, a 50-year-old Shalvey woman was driving her car along Emerson Pde. As she attempted a left-hand turn onto Hoad Place, she collided with the cyclist, a Bidwill woman, 53. Police and paramedics arrived soon after the incident and the rider was taken to Westmead Hospital
