A store employee stopped and escorted the girl to the security office before police were called. A short time later officers spoke to the girl who will now be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act. The property was returned to the store.
Police are investigating after a laptop and GPS device was stolen from a car at Plumpton. At about 1.30pm on Saturday the owner of a Toyota Prado parked and secured her vehicle in the carpark of a shopping centre. Thieves forced entry into the vehicle and removed a laptop and GPS system. Police would like to remind all drivers to ensure all windows and doors are locked, and remove all items of any value, including loose change, from view. Items of value should be taken out of the vehicle or secured in the boot and out of sight.
Six tobacconists, including one at St Marys, were raided yesterday as part of an operation targeting the supply of synthetic cannabis. The operation has already led to officers seizing more than $1 million worth of the drug, and $60,000 believed to be proceeds of crime. Four men have been arrested so far and investigations are continuing.
