The girl then al­legedly left the store with­out pay­ing for the goods. A store em­ployee stopped and es­corted the girl to the se­cu­rity of­fice be­fore po­lice were called. A short time later of­fi­cers spoke to the girl who will now be dealt with un­der the Young Of­fend­ers Act. The prop­erty was re­turned to the store.


Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter a lap­top and GPS de­vice was stolen from a car at Plump­ton. At about 1.30pm on Satur­day the owner of a Toy­ota Prado parked and se­cured her ve­hi­cle in the carpark of a shop­ping cen­tre. Thieves forced en­try into the ve­hi­cle and re­moved a lap­top and GPS sys­tem. Po­lice would like to re­mind all driv­ers to en­sure all win­dows and doors are locked, and re­move all items of any value, in­clud­ing loose change, from view. Items of value should be taken out of the ve­hi­cle or se­cured in the boot and out of sight.


Six to­bac­conists, in­clud­ing one at St Marys, were raided yesterday as part of an op­er­a­tion tar­get­ing the sup­ply of syn­thetic cannabis. The op­er­a­tion has al­ready led to of­fi­cers seiz­ing more than $1 mil­lion worth of the drug, and $60,000 be­lieved to be pro­ceeds of crime. Four men have been ar­rested so far and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
