CHAR­ITY stores across the coun­try will celebrate Na­tional Op Shop Week from Sun­day.

Mt Druitt-St Marys Stan­dard re­porters Ali­son Bald­ing and Danielle Jarvis, how­ever, de­cided to get in early.

Car­ry­ing $20 each, they vis­ited the Sal­va­tion Army store at 4 Arch­bold Rd, Minch­in­bury, to buy a great qual­ity out­fit.

They found the store had ev­ery­thing from for­mal wear to sleep­wear.

Store man­ager Mita Barot said there could be at least 12,000 gar­ments on sale in the shop at any one time.

“There is so much va­ri­ety to choose from at great prices and you can sup­port a char­ity,” Mrs Barot said.

Ms Bald­ing walked away $3 un­der bud­get, af­ter choos­ing a vi­brant blue dress ($15) and an all-sea­sons ma­roon scarf ($2).
