ART can create a mood and change the look of any interior, celebrity interior designer and television personality Shaynna Blaze says.

Blaze has teamed up with art hub Urban Road to launch her first art collection.

It is inspired by the beauty and colours of nature in what she describes as its most extreme forms.

Blaze says the partnership was her chance to relieve the frustration of not physically creating her own art range but helping direct and create the look and feel with the help of artist and creative director/founder of Urban Road, Suzie Atkin.

“Suzie has a great eye and energy and I knew as soon as we met we could create something wonderful together,’’ Blaze says.

“This was a collaboration project with myself driving the concept, subject and colour palette and Suzie being the talent behind the brush.”

The collection is all about colours and mood, she says.

“It’s about being taken on a journey of nature at its finest, with organic and abstract forms, and a sense of fluid, elegant movement,” Blaze says.

“It embraces a diverse palette, from whimsical feminine to moody and mysterious to complement any space.”

Blaze took inspiration from stormy skies and seascapes as well as zoning in on the minute details of a butterfly’s wing. The artworks are created in watercolour and acrylics and printed on canvas and paper.

The canvas can be framed with a shadow frame and the prints are framed with either timber, brass, white or black.

Papillion is based on the micro scales of a butterfly’s wing, Transcend is moody ocean and sky scapes and Chinoiserie and Fleeting Moments are supporting pieces. “They add colour to the walls but allow you to have more than one piece in the room without taking over an interior,’’ Blaze says of the latter two.
