Top coach leaves trail for Comets

NATHAN Bruce has faith­fully served the St Clair Comets Ju­nior Rugby League club as a coach and trainer for six years.

Bruce has trained the club’s un­der-10s, un­der-17s and A grade teams, and com­pleted a course this year to be­come a blue shirt med­i­cal as­sis­tant.

Ev­ery Satur­day and Sun­day Bruce makes him­self avail­able to help the club in any­way needed across all grades.

His hard work and ded­i­ca­tion have earned him a Ju­nior Sports Star Ser­vice to Sport nom­i­na­tion.

His man­ager Michelle Davis said:“Nathan is a very pas­sion­ate mem­ber of the St Clair Comets Rugby League Club.

“Ev­ery Satur­day and Sun­day is spent with the club and he is al­ways will­ing to help around the ground be it field du­ties – even when his team is not ros­tered.”

Bruce said he was sur­prised to be nom­i­nated.

“You don’t do it to get the ac­co­lade, you do it be­cause you en­joy the sport,” Bruce said. “I love be­ing around the sport.”
