GRAB your racquets, clubs and sticks because the action will be ball and all during Blacktown City’s Family SportsFest.

Blacktown International Sportspark will become a mecca for sport fans on Saturday, with sporting activities, coaching clinics, athlete appearances and interactive displays from more than 27 of Western Sydney’s sports clubs, teams and associations.

Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali said there would be something for everyone.

“The purpose of SportsFest is to give people an opportunity to get involved with local sporting and recreation groups,” Cr Bali said.

“Too often, people say there is nothing to do in Blacktown, which I think is completely rid- iculous. The day will be a chance for families to see what organisations and activities are available, as well as being able to try different sports, such as fencing.”

The event will include coaching clinics hosted by the NRL, Sydney Blue Sox, Western Sydney Wanderers, Sydney Thunder and AFL.

The day’s festivities will kick off from noon and run until 4pm.
