THE Australian INXS Show will roll into Rooty Hill RSL on Saturday night and bring the memory of Michael Hutchence to the fore.

The six-man tribute band plays all the instruments of the original group live to ensure the audience gets as close to the real thing as possible.

Covering hits like Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, Don’t Change and New Sensation, Simon Heyblok will show his incredible likeness to original lead singer Michael Hutchence.

He will be joined by Rob Moody on guitar and saxophone, Tim Saxon on guitar, Glenn Roche on drums and backup vocals and Simon D’Aquino on keyboard to recreate the essence of the Australian New Wave/Ska and pop rock band that dominated the charts for 35 years.

The show will include two 50minute sets of nothing but INXS gold and then to top of the night, the band will play encores.

The tribute show has only been together for five years, but they already play sellout shows on a regular basis.

Tim Phillips, bass player and backup vocalist, has a day job as a non-emergency ambulance driver but said he lived for the weekend.

“It’s the greatest job in the world,” Phillips said.

“It’s like a celebration. We celebrate the music of INXS and in doing that, we’re keeping the memory of Michael Hutchence alive.

“The audience knows that we’re not the real band but we go to great lengths to replicate their sounds – that’s what we do.

“Some people can’t believe how much we sound like the real thing and that’s our job.”

Phillips said the show was all about enjoying the music by the band that left its mark on music history forever.

The show will start at 8pm and tickets cost $25. Details: Call 9625 5500 or visit rooty
