THE Australian Diamonds Netball World Cup team’s achievements will be celebrated when Premier Mike Baird hosts a victory ceremony in Martin Place today.

The ceremony will commemorate the three con-- secutive World Cups the team has won.

Midcourter Paige Hadley, of St Clair, said she was looking forward to the ceremony.

“It’s really exciting that NSW is going to put on a show for us and recognise the excellence we’ve shown,” Hadley said.

“It’s well-deserved. I definitely think it’s about time we got some recognition.”

The reception will run from 1-1.30pm and include speeches from Mr Baird, Sports Minister Stuart Ayres, coach Lisa Alexander and captain Laura Geitz.

The ceremony will take place on the eve of the team announcement for the Constellation Cup which will see the Diamonds take on their arch rivals, the New Zealand Ferns, in October.
