Rubbish was our topic last week. Here are two areas that need urgent attention. Our current topic is footpaths and nature strips. Go to our website to see how to nominate and vote on this issue.

RUBBISH dumped at Oxley Park has topped the list of trouble spots selected by readers and The Standard under NewsLocal’s Neighbourhood Rescue campaign.

The campaign asked you to nominate and vote, via our website, on the most pressing sites needing an urgent clean-up.

At Noela Place, Oxley Park, residents pointed to furniture and other discarded household items left on the lawn, which was part of a pre-approved council pick-up.

At Boronia Rd, St Marys, residents reported littering through bushland.

A Penrith Council spokesman said residents were risking a $250 fine for littering in bushland.

The NewsLocal Neighbourhood Rescue campaign aims to help solve problems and improve life in our suburbs.

The next topic we will be focusing on is footpaths and nature strips.

Don’t forget to send us pictures of the problem, details on the location and your contact details.

Submissions close at noon on Thursday.

To nominate a problem, go to newslobourhoodrescue.
