Public can say thank you to po­lice of­fi­cers

PO­LICE of­fi­cers who have gone above and be­yond the call of duty will be recog­nised at the NSW Po­lice Of­fi­cer of the Year Awards later this year.

The public has un­til Sun­day, Septem­ber 27, to nom­i­nate an of­fi­cer for the Cus­tomer Ser­vice Ex­cel­lence Award.

NSW Po­lice Com­mis­sioner An­drew Sci­p­i­one (pic­tured) said any­one who knows a po­lice of­fi­cer who has ex­celled in their per­sonal deal­ings with the com­mu­nity should nom­i­nate.

“To be recog­nised by the com­mu­nity you serve is a won­der­ful achieve­ment,” he said.

“It means a lot to po­lice of­fi­cers to get that kind of di­rect feed­back from the public.”

Now in their sixth year, the awards – spon­sored by the Ro­tary Club of NSW – will be an­nounced on Fri­day, Novem­ber 6.
