THE PEOPLE’S MINSTREL
JOHN WILLIAMSON IS BACK
FEW artists have experienced a career as long and illustrious as John Williamson.
Australia has enjoyed his music for more than 44 years and looking at his album and songs, you can easily see why.
Throughout his performing years, Williamson has resisted offers to take his music to the international stage, instead preferring to stay true to his passion: Australia.
He has won a swag of accolades including three ARIA awards, 24 Golden Guitar Awards and numerous gold and platinum records.
This year Williamson is back and heading out west to celebrate his long-awaited 50th album, Honest People. His tour will showcase new songs from the album, including Heatwave, Girt by Sea, Clouds over Tamworth, Keep Walking, and Kings and Queens.
Williamson will also be performing many of his old favourite songs that capture the essence of everyday Australians.
John Williamson is without question, an Australian icon. His voice and sound have become recognisable to all of us. He’s performed at some of Australia’s most historic and nation-stopping events, and to battlers across the country. His songs and music are simply for everyone. A rare opportunity, this event is not to be missed.
Williamson is set to appear at Rooty Hill RSL next Saturday, September 12, with his show starting at 8pm.
Adult tickets are $44 and children under 14 are $33. To purchase tickets go to totalcountry.com.au.
