THIS WEEK’S ISSUE SSUE PLAYGROUNDS!
Footpaths and nature strips were our topics last week. Here are three areas that need urgent attention. Our current topic is playgrounds. Visit our website to see how you can nominate.
FOOTPATHS and walkways at Rooty Hill and Whalan have topped the list of trouble spots selected by readers in NewsLocal’s Neighbourhood Rescue campaign.
The campaign asked you to nominate and vote, via our website, on sites needing urgent attention.
Residents have made complaints about Brussels Cres at Rooty Hill, where the path with large raised sections has been causing people to trip. At nearby John St, the lack of a paved path is proving dangerous for many residents.
At Whalan, the laneway between Kurama Cres and Belmore Ave, steel pipes are sticking out of the footpath.
Blacktown Council is responsible for each of these cases. A spokeswoman thanked residents for highlighting the issues.
We will let you know how things are progressing in future editions.
The Neighbourhood Rescue campaign aims to solve problems and improve life in our suburbs.
The next topic we will be focusing on is playgrounds. We want to hear from you about where there is a need for repairs or rectification of problems in our streets.
