A man has been charged with mid-range drink driving after being stopped at St Clair. About 3.30am on Saturday, police were patrolling Onslow St when a grey Mitsubishi sedan was signalled to stop by police on Melville Rd. Police spoke with the driver, a 28-year-old man, who was subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result. The driver was subsequently conveyed to St Marys police station where he underwent a breath analysis that returned a positive reading of 0.144. The driver is due to face Penrith Court on September 28.
Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Popondetta Park at Emerton on Sunday night. At about 8.40pm, police were called after smoke was seen coming from the netball courts. Police and firefighters arrived a short time later to find a number of wheelie bins well alight. The fire was quickly extinguished with the bins being totally destroyed.
MARYS St Marys police are investigating a serious assault at Werrington on Sunday. Shortly after 3am, emergency services were called to Rance Rd following reports of a brawl. Police arrived to find a 34-year-old man with a deep cut to his elbow after allegedly being struck with a weapon. Police established a crime scene before the man was taken for treatment. Witnesses are urged to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
DRUITT Police are investigating after tools and other items were stolen from a ute at Mt Druitt on Monday. About 10am, the Toyota Hilux was parked on Paull St and when the owner returned at 7pm, he found the Hilux had been broken into, the glove box had been rummaged through and property, including cash and hand tools, were missing. As investigations continue, police have urged residents to be vigilant with ensuring their vehicles are secure. Some tips include making sure the area is well-lit and personal valuables are stored out of sight or taken from the vehicle.
CLAIR A man, 34, will face court next month charged with drug supply and possession. About 6.35pm on
