A man, 43, will face court later this month charged with stealing offences. About noon on Sunday, the man allegedly removed merchandise from a bottle shop in Westfield without attempting to pay. The man was approached by a loss prevention officer and questioned. During the questioning the man has allegedly become violent and attempted to assault the officer. Police arrived and arrested the man. He has been charged and the goods were returned to the store.
MARYS A man, 31, has been charged with fraud. Police will allege about 3.45pm last Tuesday, the man attended a financial institution in St Marys and produced a cheque along with a number of identification cards. Following a number of inquiries, police were called and arrested the man. Police allege the cheque and cards were illegally obtained. The man was issued with court attendance notices for the offences of use false document to obtain financial advantage and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen. He is due to appear in Penrith Court on September 24.
