THE fourth annual Fairies and Fantasy Festival took flight at Minchinbury this weekend.

Organiser Kathy Latorre said this year’s event attracted “more than ever before”.

“It was really good, it was definitely our biggest ever,” Ms Latorre said.

“We filled the carpark at the M Centre on the Great Western Highway, which is a pretty big space.

“The whole day just had a really great vibe, the weather was perfect and everyone was having fun.”

Ms Latorre said many iconic characters joined the festivities and proved a real highlight for children.

“Elsa from Frozen was particularly popular and so was the Minion,” she said.

“We had a free jumping castle all day, the petting zoo is always popular, we had a special fairy facepainter and go karts.”

Ms Latorre said all the show bags were sold out by noon.

“That was the biggest part of our fundraiser for children’s charity KidsWest so it was a fantastic result,” she said. “Hopefully, if we can secure some corporate sponsors, we can sell even more next year.”
