RFS volunteers remember a mate
SHANES Park Rural Fire Service volunteers have formed a guard of honour at the funeral of their colleague Todd Arthur, who died of a heart attack.
The loss hit his comrades hard and they have pledged to help support Mr Arthur’s devastated family.
Mr Arthur was only 47 when he died, leaving behind his wife Doreen, who he was a full-time carer to.
His father Gus Arthur said his son’s death was “most unexpected”.
While still coming to terms with his loss, Mr Arthur said he took comfort in the support of those who loved his son.
“Todd always had time for others, apparently he has been very well loved by everyone he has met,” he said.
Shanes Park RFS captain Bill Errington said Mr Arthur was about to be presented with a 10-year medal for service to the brigade.
A fundraiser has been set up to help Mr Arthur’s family. To donate, visit gofundme. com/ec3zn3tt.
