Pop hits from the ’90s sure to spice up life
THE ‘90s are about to make a comeback across Western Sydney with
Popstars! The ‘90s Musical.
St Clair 25-year-old Doug Bryant is playing one of the leading roles in the musical and said the show was hilarious.
The musical follows high school students Mark and Shannon who have a brutal break-up and seek revenge by battling it out in a boys vs. girls talent competition to become popstars.
From Britney Spears to Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls, this musical is bound to have everyone singing along – even if they won’t admit it.
“Popstars is a real crowd pleaser. It is meant to be something that sends audiences out there by singing all the songs they probably already know and clapping along and having fun,” co-writer Neil Gooding said.
Bryant is currently working as a music teacher and studying a Masters of Special Education and said he used musicals as a release.
“I find doing musicals is a great way to relieve stress, it’s very enjoyable and I knew a lot of the cast going into this one which made it more exciting,” he said.
Popstars! The ‘90s musical will play at the Redgum Centre in Wentworthville from September 24-27.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for concessions, book at hmds.org.au or phone Leanne on 0497 051 798.
