A woman, 40, has been charged with high-range drink-driv­ing af­ter al­legedly be­ing seen by po­lice to be driv­ing er­rat­i­cally. About 12.30am on Sun­day, po­lice were pa­trolling Glos­sop St at St Marys when a grey Mit­subishi util­ity was al­legedly ob­served to be swerv­ing on the road be­fore mount­ing a gut­ter. Po­lice stopped and spoke with driver, who was sub­jected to a road­side breath test which al­legedly re­turned a pos­i­tive sam­ple. The driver was taken to St Marys po­lice sta­tion where she un­der­went a breath anal­y­sis that al­legedly re­turned a read­ing of 0.197. Her li­cence was sus­pended on the spot. She is due to face Pen­rith Court on Oc­to­ber 8.


MT DRUITT Po­lice are on the hunt for a bag snatcher who ripped a bag from a woman, 54, as she walked to her Mt Druitt home on Mon­day af­ter­noon. About 3.15pm, the woman was walk­ing along Shen­nan Walk­way to her unit block on Methven St when three men ap­proached her, one grab­bing her bag from her shoul­der, be­fore all ran from the scene. A mem­ber of the public heard the woman scream and came to help but could not catch the thieves. One of the men was de­scribed as be­ing cau­casian, tall, with long blonde hair and wear­ing a red shirt or jumper. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is urged to call Mt Druitt po­lice.
