Police are investigating a stabbing at Lethbridge Park on Saturday night. Emergency services were called to a home on Waitaki St about 7.30pm, where they found a man with multiple stab wounds. The 45year-old has been taken to Westmead Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
HEBERSHAM A man has been charged with firearm offences at Hebersham. About 11.45am on Saturday, police were patrolling and saw a white Skyline sedan allegedly travelling in an erratic manner. The driver, a man, 21, pulled into the driveway of a house in Richardson Crescent, and allegedly ran into the house. Police stopped and spoke with the man when he came out of the house a short time later. A scuffle ensued and the man was arrested. He was treated at Mt Druitt Hospital for a facial injury. His car was searched and a number of prohibited items were allegedly found, including a revolver and knife. The man has been charged to face court next month.
WHALAN Police do not believe the fire at Whalan on Thursday night was suspicious. Close to 20 fire trucks responded to an intense shop fire on Bulolo Drive about 9.55pm. Mt Druitt firefighters arrived to find thick smoke billowing from the roof of the Whalan Tobacconist. The fire quickly spread through the roof area of adjoining shops. A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said the fire was put out shortly before 2am. Investigations are continuing but police said they believe the fire started in the roof.
MINCHINBURY Residents were forced to flee as a fire took hold of a home at Minchinbury yesterday. Just before 2.30am, firefighters were called to a house fire on Minchin Drive. All occupants escaped uninjured. The cause of the fire is being investigated. The worst of the damage was in two back rooms of the house.
ST MARYS A man, 39, will face court next month charged with drug offences after police allegedly found cannabis plants in his home. About 10.30am on Thursday, police searched a home in Desborough Rd at St Marys. During this search police allegedly found cannabis plants. He will face Penrith Court on October 8.
