THIS WEEK: The causeway on Stoney Creek Rd, Shanes Park Beaconsfield Rd, corner of the Great Western Highway, Rooty Hill KERBS and drains at Rooty Hill and Shanes Park have topped the list of trouble spots selected by readers in NewsLocal’s Neighbourhood Rescue campaign.

A spokeswoman said the council deployed staff to undertake regular inspections of all streets and drains, recording the defects identified and prioritising the sites accordingly.

“On average, the council identifies or receives over 9000 individual requests for drain and gutter maintenance each year,” she said.

“All defects identified or reported are recorded … emergency requests are actioned immediately or as soon as resources allow.”
