TURNBULL WILL ROLL OUT NDIS
RESIDENTS with disability living in the Mt Druitt and St Marys region will have access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which will be rolled out in 2016.
In his first major act as prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull signed an agreement for the $22 billion scheme to be rolled out across NSW and Victoria.
The program aims to assist more than 140,000 people with disability – as well as their families and carers.
Transition to the NDIS will begin in July 2016, covering all eligible people under 65.
Western Sydney will receive access to the scheme from July 1, 2016, with residents across northern and southern NSW the last to enter the scheme in 2017.
