Rangers bow out of finals
“The boys outplayed the opposition in my opinion, we had three attempts at goal that hit the post and another that hit the cross bar – their keeper also had three saves,” Montgomery said.
“Their keeper did a great job, we had so many chances to convert the goals but unfortunately we couldn’t do that.”
Central Coast scored one goal from a free kick and the other from a penalty goal, leaving it difficult for the Rangers to catch up.
“The team were frustrated with the outcome – they knew the opportunity had passed them,” Montgomery said.
“They are experienced at winning grand finals, but this one just didn't go to plan for them.”
The side will now look forward to a break before beginning trials for next season on October 6.
