AUSTRALIAN Diamond Paige Hadley and Montana Geyer are among the Panthers Premier League Netball inaugural squad.

The competition, which will replace State League, starts next year.

The three team coaches whittled down the near 70 hopefuls to a dozen for each of the opens’ and under-20s teams after trials at the State Sport Centre.

Penrith District Netball Association president Joy Gillett said the side included several homegrown players, including Hadley, who will play in the side if her NSW Swifts’ and Diamonds’ commitments allow.

“There’s probably about four or five homegrown players,” Gillett said.

“There are a couple of people who are locals and have left for State League, but now come back to play in our Premier League team.”
