Out-of-home care study

The first large-scale study into the out­comes for chil­dren and young peo­ple in out-of-home care in Aus­tralia has de­liv­ered its first re­sults. Fam­ily and Com­mu­nity Ser­vices Min­is­ter Brad Hazzard (pic­tured) said the gov­ern­ment was in­vest­ing $7.5 mil­lion over five years into the Path­ways of Care Lon­gi­tu­di­nal Study. The study will fol­low more than 4000 chil­dren, mea­sur­ing their phys­i­cal health and learn­ing abil­i­ties. Visit com­mu­nity.nsw.gov.au/path­ways.
