No kidding, Milly’s a mum now

DOUBLE trouble has arrived after Millicent the mischievous goat gave birth to twin boys.

In January last year, Victor and Shirley Hammond took in Milly after reading story about her escapade on the roof of the Hassall Grove Shopping Centre in Hebersham.

The Hammonds work as couriers, but Milly is not the first goat the Middle Dural couple rescued.

A few years earlier, they saved Daisy, whom they found shot in the leg on the side of the F3.

That rescue led them into a life on an acreage with more than a dozen goats.

“We never imagined living on an acreage, let alone living with goats – we didn’t even have a dog,” Mr Hammond said. He said his herd was “amazing”. “I absolutely love them,” Mr Hammond said.

The Hammonds’ herd includes Daisy, Moccha, Silver, Rose, Lily, Lightning, Lady, Snow, Lilac, Storm, Wind, Rambo and Milly.

Now two more names are needed for the twins.

Mr Hammond said the oldest kid was black and white, charged around and was “a very hyper little guy”, while the younger kid was brown and white, very cautious and “was quite docile at first”.
