Dawson Mall, Mt Druitt Residents have nominated the garden beds in Dawson Mall as needing some attention from Blacktown Council. They have called for new plants to be put in to stop the area looking “shabby” and neglected.

PPARKS and gardens at Mt Druitt and Blackett have topped the list of trouble s spots selected by readers in NewsLocal’s Neighbourhood Rescue campaign.
Residents have made c complaints about Dawson Mall garden beds they claim look shabby and need p plants.
The park on Idriess Cres at Blackett also needs “a fix” as it has been neglected for too long, according to r residents.
A Blacktown Council s spokeswoman said the c council had an extensive portfolio of parks, reserves, sports fields and gardens.
“We have over 800 parks and reserves incorporating some 160 sports fields and over 200 playgrounds,” she said. “To ensure services are provided citywide to these facilities, the council has adopted an Open Space Maintenance Strategy which has classified each park and reserve.”
Residents are encouraged to report concerns to the council on 9839 6000.
