ZAKURY Maroney-Quee is only 10 but has already been in four rugby league finals. The Year 4 student plays for Hebersham Tigers and this year took out the grand final against St Clair. Zakury is not only an amazing player, he also has incredible team spirit which is what earnt him his Junior Sports Star nomination.

Earlier this year, Zakury suffered from appendicitis and spent time in hospital. Despite the surgery he still came to training and watched from the sidelines as his team played.

His mother Megan Maroney said she was just happy Zakury played for such an amazing club. “The team and the club are so encouraging and supportive; they are just like one big family,” she said.
