Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a sus­pi­cious house fire in Wha­lan on Mon­day. About 3am, emer­gency ser­vices were called to a house fire on Bel­more Av­enue. Fire­fight­ers ex­tin­guished the fire, how­ever the home was ex­ten­sively dam­aged. A man and a woman were as­sisted out of the house un­in­jured. Mt Druitt po­lice also at­tended and es­tab­lished a crime scene. An in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the in­ci­dent is un­der­way. The fire is be­ing treated as sus­pi­cious. Po­lice are urg­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion to call Crime Stop­pers.

LETH­BRIDGE PARK Po­lice have is­sued a Court At­ten­dance No­tice to a dis­qual­i­fied driver at Leth­bridge Park. About 7.45am on Fri­day, po­lice saw the Shalvey man, 34, al­legedly driv­ing a car along Copeland Rd when checks re­vealed the car was al­legedly un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured. Po­lice stopped the car and spoke with the driver be­fore con­duct­ing fur­ther in­quiries re­veal­ing the man’s li­cence was dis­qual­i­fied un­til mid-2016. He will face Mt Druitt Court later this month.

ROPES CROSS­ING Po­lice have ap­pealed for wit­nesses af­ter a break and en­ter at Ropes Cross­ing. Be­tween noon on Mon­day and 8am yesterday, thieves have bro­ken into a con­struc­tion site on Lid­di­ard St and stolen an air­con­di­tioner. Any­one who saw any­thing sus­pi­cious or has any in­for­ma­tion should call Crime Stop­pers. to pro­duce his driver’s li­cense and the man al­legedly told po­lice he did not have one. Po­lice will al­lege the man has never held a li­cence. He will face Mt Druitt Court on Oc­to­ber 22.

BLACK­ETT Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a house fire at Black­ett on Satur­day. About 7.20pm, po­lice and emer­gency ser­vices were called to the fire on Bol­drewood Rd. The house was un­oc­cu­pied and the fire was quickly ex­tin­guished. In­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tinue. Po­lice urge any­one with in­for­ma­tion to come for­ward.

ST MARYS A woman was lucky to es­cape with mi­nor in­juries af­ter los­ing con­trol of her car along the Great Western High­way at St Marys on Fri­day. Wit­nesses say the car crossed five lanes of traf­fic, crashed through a fence and drove down an em­bank­ment. Luck­ily, her car did not col­lide with any oth­ers.

ROOTY HILL A man, 41, has been charged with high-range drink-driv­ing af­ter be­ing stopped for a breath test at Rooty Hill on Sun­day and al­legedly re­turn­ing a read­ing more than three times the le­gal limit. About 11.50pm the driver, a Hors­ley Park man, was stopped on Wood­stock Av­enue for al­legedly driv­ing dan­ger­ously. A breath test al­legedly re­turned a pos­i­tive re­sult. The man will face Mt Druitt Court later this month.
