Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in Whalan on Monday. About 3am, emergency services were called to a house fire on Belmore Avenue. Firefighters extinguished the fire, however the home was extensively damaged. A man and a woman were assisted out of the house uninjured. Mt Druitt police also attended and established a crime scene. An investigation into the incident is underway. The fire is being treated as suspicious. Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
LETHBRIDGE PARK Police have issued a Court Attendance Notice to a disqualified driver at Lethbridge Park. About 7.45am on Friday, police saw the Shalvey man, 34, allegedly driving a car along Copeland Rd when checks revealed the car was allegedly unregistered and uninsured. Police stopped the car and spoke with the driver before conducting further inquiries revealing the man’s licence was disqualified until mid-2016. He will face Mt Druitt Court later this month.
ROPES CROSSING Police have appealed for witnesses after a break and enter at Ropes Crossing. Between noon on Monday and 8am yesterday, thieves have broken into a construction site on Liddiard St and stolen an airconditioner. Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information should call Crime Stoppers. to produce his driver’s license and the man allegedly told police he did not have one. Police will allege the man has never held a licence. He will face Mt Druitt Court on October 22.
BLACKETT Police are investigating a house fire at Blackett on Saturday. About 7.20pm, police and emergency services were called to the fire on Boldrewood Rd. The house was unoccupied and the fire was quickly extinguished. Investigations continue. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
ST MARYS A woman was lucky to escape with minor injuries after losing control of her car along the Great Western Highway at St Marys on Friday. Witnesses say the car crossed five lanes of traffic, crashed through a fence and drove down an embankment. Luckily, her car did not collide with any others.
ROOTY HILL A man, 41, has been charged with high-range drink-driving after being stopped for a breath test at Rooty Hill on Sunday and allegedly returning a reading more than three times the legal limit. About 11.50pm the driver, a Horsley Park man, was stopped on Woodstock Avenue for allegedly driving dangerously. A breath test allegedly returned a positive result. The man will face Mt Druitt Court later this month.
