THOMAS Reid works full-time and jug­gles six chil­dren of his own, but still spends 30 hours a week volunteering for St Clair Bas­ket­ball Club.

Coach­ing six teams and over­see­ing more than 25, Mr Reid lives and breathes bas­ket­ball, and even runs boot camps in school hol­i­days.

Michelle Parkes said Mr Reid had changed her daugh­ter’s at­ti­tude to­wards sport.

“I went from hav­ing a child who wanted to quit the sport to one that now loves it and wants the best for her team,” she said.

Mr Reid has been nom­i­nated for a Newslo­cal’s Ju­nior Sports Star Award, spon­sored by Rebel with 7 News as the of­fi­cial media part­ner, in the Ser­vice to Sport cat­e­gory.
