Hole lot more could be done on roads
Potholes was our topic last week. Here are two areas that need urgent attention. Our current topic is street lighting. Visit our website to see how you can nominate an issue.
POTHOLES in Mt Druitt and Tregear have topped the list of trouble spots selected by readers in NewsLocal’s Neighbourhood Rescue campaign.
Residents have called for the patchwork of quick fixes in Duke St, Mt Druitt, to be replaced with a completely new surface.
Readers also said the potholes on Ellsworth Drive in Tregear, between Luxford Rd and McMurdo Ave, needed attention.
A Blacktown Council spokeswoman said Duke St was the responsibility of Roads and Maritime Services and the council would pass on the concerns. In regards to Ellsworth Drive and other council roads, she said all defects reported to the council were logged in its Customer Action Request system under a “unique identification number” and residents could keep track of its progress.
Residents are encouraged to report concerns to the council by calling 9839 6000.
We will let you know how things progress in future editions. The next topic we will focus on is street lighting.
We want to hear from you about where there is a need for repairs.
