Malakai is on the ball for big future on the footy field
TEN-YEAR-OLD Malakai Tuipulotu is one talented rugby league player.
In a game that played out eerily similarly to this year’s celebrated NRL grand final, the Junior Sports Star nominee was able to score the winning try in his grand final during golden point time.
This year’s win made it the fourth year in a row Malakai’s team were named premiers.
Having played rugby league for St Marys Rugby League Club since he was six, Malakai has now become one of the district’s top point scorers.
Malakai was nominated in the young sporting spirit category by his mother Aimee Tuipulotu, who said he always gave his very best.
“Malakai just loves any team sport, he even plays touch (football), Oztag and netball in the off season,” she said.
The awards are sponsored by Rebel and 7 News is the official media partner.
