Marlisa’s song up for ARIA gong
GLENDENNING’S winner Marlisa Punzalan has been nominated for Song Of The Year at the upcoming 2015 ARIA awards.
Her single will go up against some of Australias biggest names in music including Iggy Azalea, Sia, Vance Joy and Peking Duk.
has now reached more than 2.4 million hits on YouTube and has reached platinum status, selling more than 70,000 copies.
Despite her success the 16year-old said she could not believe she was nominated.
“This is my first award nomination — I was more excited by it than anything,” she said.
“No way in a million years did I expect to be so popular.”
Punzalan said she hoped to win the award but was just glad to be nominated. “I wasn’t expecting it at all, just to be nominated is amazing,” she said.
As for new music, Punzalan told her fans to watch out.
“I have some new music coming over very soon. It is going to be different and will be a big surprise,” she said.
The ARIA Awards will be held on Thursday, November 26, at The Star in Sydney.
